Under all Real Estate: Good Citizenship

Where else but in Charlottesville could I decide on the spur of the moment to go to the Naturalization Ceremony at Monticello on the Fourth of July!  What a privilege and treat to witness 78 souls from 32 different countries petition to be accepted as Citizens of the United States, a dream they each have had for many decades. Sam Waterston gave a wonderful speach as did two new Americans, one from Afganistan (featured in the Daily Progress that morning) and one from Togo. It was a special surprise to me that I knew two of the candidates: Ian Yang, one of my players from the UVa Ice Hockey Team (Canada) and Danielle DeVereaux,  a Realtor (Belgium). For more images and transpcripts from the speaches, see the Daily Progress Web Site.
